La Alcancia isn't just a supermarket. They have a small restaurant inside with some of the most delicious real Mexican food you can get in the area. I've tried both the carnitas and just had a burrito of carnitas and they were as delicious as the carnitas I had at Santa Clara de Cobre, Michoacán. I'm looking forward to trying more. I've had the menudo also and it is delicious!

OMG! If you have had their tacos you know they are the best if you haven't, what are you waiting for??? They are the best tacos we have ever had. The owners were kind enough to bring them to us in CA, carne asada & al pastor, delicious. I don't really care for Al Pastor after trying these, I think is now my favorite, from here though, not anywhere else. Our plan is to go to Chicago to try all of them. If you are from Chicago and you haven't tried these tacos you are missing out. You'll never want tacos from anywhere else once you try these. Thank you Maggie and Jose, you are the best.

Hands down the tastiest tacos I have eaten in the NW suburbs. This taco place (not a restaurant) is located tucked away in a corner of a Mexican grocery store. They are just a few tables in front of this small counter and it is a cramped place. But don't let the looks of this taco joint discourage you. Since their tacos had great reviews on Yelp, I decided to give it a try. And I am happy today that I was not disappointed. Ordered steak tacos which had minimal toppings of just onions and cilantro. Of course on corn tortillas. The steak was very well seasoned and the meat was very tender and piled on. In front of this tiny counter is a big bowl of charred jalapeños and whole green onions along with a big bowl of red salsa. Must try both. They are very delicious. Also tried their Menudo soup which is available on weekends and it was gooood. If you have a taste for authentic tasting tacos with various choices of meat and other offerings such as burritos, this is my go to place. After my first visit last week, I had to go back a few days later. Both times it was takeout since all tables were taken. The place is packed on weekends and hard to find an open parking stop in their lot. That being said, it is worth the inconvenience.
